Our most popular tour! The Arenal Volcano is one
of the most active volcanoes in the Americas. From our observation
point, you will feel the ground tremble and see the night sky explode
with ash and lava in a natural display of fireworks. Next, we will

The
first stop is breakfast at a Doka Coffee Plantation, where
you will be able to enjoy an authentic Costa Rican style breakfast. We
will then take you to a third-generation coffee plantation and show you
how coffee is picked, milled, ground, and roasted.
Once
you’ve found out
first hand, or cup, why Costa Rica is known for its coffee,we will
continue to Poás Volcano. This volcano is one of the
actives
volcanoes in Costa Rica. The crystal blue sulfur pools will
amaze you along with the steam rising from the various volcanic vents.
The last stop is La Paz Waterfall Gardens. Your tour guide
will
take you through the butterfly observatory, the hummingbird garden and
the waterfall trails. After your hike you will enjoy a
buffet lunch in the restaurant with view to the waterfalls.
As you wander the trails of La Paz Waterfall Gardens your senses will
delight at the five waterfalls that line the trail.
The Butterfly garden is one of the largest in the world
reaching heights of 50 feet, this enclosed structure allows butterflies
to soar freely while guests walk amid the natural habitat.
The Hummingbird Garden attracts a lot of different species
of birds, more species than any other in Costa Rica and quite
possibly the world and the frog exhibit has received rave reviews from
a lot of visitors.
Our mini-rainforest is enclosed but the frogs are
not and you can see and photograph them in their natural habitat. The
collection includes the most famous frogs of the Central American
Rainforest including the Red Eyed Tree Frog, the Flying Frog and
various species of Poison Dart Frogs. Each night guests are invited to
handle the friendly Leaf-frogs during their most active period.

The trip begins ascending the breathtaking summit of the Irazu Volcano
for a view of the massive crater. On a clear day you can actually see
the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans! After an exciting tour at the volcano,
we will descend to the historical city of Cartago. Here we will visit
the mysterious ruins of the old Parish and view the beautiful Basilica
of our "Virgen de los Angeles" with rich displays of carvings, statues
and art.
After our visit to the Basílica de Los Angeles we will drive to the
Lankester Gardens. The Lankester Gardens are a Tropical Paradise
featuring over 800 varieties of exotic orchids, various tropical
flowers, and plant life. This tour continues with a ride through the
unique beauty of the famous Orosi Valley and Reventazón River.
The area is noted for its rich soil, abundant plant life, and the
outstanding coffee plantations. We will have a stop for lunch in a

Leaving San José, we will head towards the Pacific
coast along the old Spanish route that has been in use since 1606.
Along the way we´ll stop briefly to enjoy a delicious traditional Costa
Rican breakfast. Once we reach our destination we´ll take a jungle boat
tour that goes along the Tarcoles River. Our guide will introduce you
to the world of crocodiles and exotic birds.
After the boat tour we´ll arrive at one of the most beautiful protected
areas around, Punta Leona Beach Resort. This exotic paradise is
surrounded by 750 acres of lush tropical rainforest, pristine white
sand beaches and the blue water of the Pacific Ocean. You´ll have the
day at leisure with plenty of time to enjoy the activities offered by
the resort, including water sports, swimming in the crystal clear water

If interested guests can take an optional uided tour through the

As we continue our experience, we will walk at Selva Verde’s eco lodge

seekers. Nestled in the North-Central Lowlands of Costa Rica, Selva
Verde’s private reserve protects over 500 acres of primary and

Depart from San
José accompained by your bilingual naturalist guide.
Driving first past coffe plantations, we'll head into the mountains of
Braulio Carrillo National Park where steep slopes are covered with
thick cloud forest and beatiful waterfalls can be seen
from the road.
Just after Braulio Carrillo National Park, we stop for a typical Costa
Rican breakfast, fresh fruit, coffee, eggs and the popular gallo pinto.
Following breakfast, we continue to a Banana Plantation, where we visit
a Banana Packing Plant. Your guide will explain the process of growing
and exporting tha fruit.
We later abandon our bus and embark on the most exiting part of this
tour: the boat trip into the jungle on the Caribbean Canals to the
world famous Tortuguero National Park.
We will enjoy a hearty, typical lunch to please the hungriest of
appetites.
After lunch we will take a tour to Tortuguero Town where you will have
a chance to interact with the local people as you walk on the beach.
Returning to the bus, we head back to San José, making a rest stop
